Job summary

Baptist Health System, Inc. seeks a Nursing Assistant to join the 3G & H telemetry/medical-surgical unit.

This full-time, first shift role provides essential support to RNs and the care team in a busy 37-bed unit serving orthopedic/neuro/spine patients and secondary stroke patients. You will perform direct patient care, vital signs, basic procedures, admissions/discharges, and clerical tasks, while maintaining a safe, compassionate environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current KY Nurse Aide Certification or completion of first year of Nursing program with clinical rotation.
• BLS certification due within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care including hygiene, mobility, toileting, feeding, and positioning.
• Obtains and documents vital signs, intake/output, weights, specimens, and other data.
• Performs delegated procedures such as glucose monitoring, EKGs, and venipuncture.
• Assists with admissions, transfers, discharges, and procedures.
• Performs clerical and unit coordination duties, including charts and orders.
• Maintains supplies, equipment, and a safe care environment.
• Responds to patient needs and emergencies with compassionate, respectful care.
