Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital - Canton is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA) in Canton, OH. The role supports post-ICU patients, with 12-hour shifts on a PRN/Per Diem schedule. Pay is $20.00 per hour and orientation is provided to ensure a smooth transition into our hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or relevant work experience (3+ years).
• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant or CNA or related field (e.g., medical assistant).
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Bathing patients and basic care (basin-less wash), oral hygiene, feeding and hair care.
• Participate in hourly rounds.
• Transport patients to treatment areas and assist with transfers.
• Maintain cleanliness of instruments and equipment (bedpans, urinals, wheelchairs).
• Keep patient rooms clean and orderly; restock supplies as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire
