RWJBarnabas Health's Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ is seeking a Nursing Assistant II to join the Orthopedics Unit. This hourly role supports RNs with patient care, including vitals, mobility, and daily activities, while ensuring safety and comfort for patients.

You will document in the EHR, follow infection control protocols, and participate in care planning from admission to discharge.

Qualificações

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Previous nursing assistant experience or CNA certification preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Assist with activities of daily living and provide nursing care including taking vital signs.
• Monitor vital signs (BP, pulse, respiration, temperature) and report changes.
• Document patient information accurately in the EHR.
• Follow infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment.
• Communicate with patients, families, and care team to coordinate plans.
• Provide basic patient care and assist with mobility and personal care.
• Participate in care planning from admission to discharge.

You'll assist with daily needs such as vital signs, mobility, and personal care, while helping RNs monitor conditions and carry out care plans. Your attention, empathy, and teamwork help restore comfort and dignity for every patient you serve and make our mission to improve lives a reality each day.

As a Nursing Assistant(NA), a typical day may include:

• Assisting patients with activities of daily living and providing nursing care to patients including taking vital signs, EKGS, performing phlebotomy, assisting with bedside care, i.e. bathing, mouth care, skin care.
• Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to track patient health status
• Document patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems while maintaining strict confidentiality
• Implement infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff, adhering to facility policies
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to coordinate care plans and address concerns
• Support emergency response efforts by applying Basic Life Support (BLS) skills such as CPR when needed in acute situations
• Providing patient care, based on physical, education, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients
• Providing for effective and safe patient outcomes through practice, judgment and critical actions
• Ongoing communication with patients and nursing colleagues regarding status of patient’s care
• Participating in collaboration of our patient's plan of care from admission to discharge to ensure safe transitioning

To be considered for this NA opportunity, you must have a High School Diploma / GED and a current American Heart Association BLS certification. Previous nursing assistant experience or clinical experience from an accredited nursing program is preferred or a CNA certificate. This position offers a Full-Time Nightschedule from 11:00pm to 7:00amand includes every other weekend as well as some holidays.
