Job Overview:

Provides basic, direct patient care, considering patients' age-specific needs. Works as part of the healthcare team under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, ensuring all care complies with department policies, procedures, and standards of care.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High School Diploma
• BLS Certification from the American Heart Association
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• Effective communication and basic math skills
• Completion of all orientation programs

Preferred:

• Previous Nursing Assistant experience or completion of two RN clinical courses or a CNA program

Certifications and Licenses:

• BLS certification from the American Heart Association

Scheduling Requirements:

• Evening shifts from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM
• Every other weekend required; weekday schedule varies based on department needs
• Full-Time (37.5 hours/week)
• Mandatory orientation session

Essential Functions:

• Assesses patient needs and communicates with the healthcare team
• Participates in patient and family education as appropriate
• Engages in unit quality improvement activities
• Provides age-specific care based on growth and development principles
