Job summary

Essentia Health is seeking a nurse aide to provide direct patient care in the 3063240 MED SURG - DL HOSP unit, under RN supervision. Responsibilities include personal hygiene, nutrition assistance, comfort care, vital signs, and accurate documentation.

The role supports patient safety and comfort, adheres to Joint Commission standards, and requires BLS within 3 months of hire. Shifts are 10:30pm–7:00am, 0.6 FTE, with every-other weekend and holiday rotation.

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized nurse aide training program or current registration on state nursing assistant registry.
• BLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
• Demonstrated ability to provide direct patient care under RN supervision.

Job Description:

Responsible for providing direct care to patients and serving the needs of patients in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort, under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, Assistant Head Nurse, and/or Department Director (possibly with guidance from an LPN) to contribute to meeting the mission and goals of Essentia Health. Duties will vary by patient care unit/department and include but are not limited to: Providing personal hygiene care, assisting with nutritional needs, providing comfort care and other assistance, appropriately and safely transferring patients, taking vital signs and completing recordkeeping, recognizing and promptly reporting changes in patient condition to the RN, and maintaining a safe, clean environment for patients to promote the healing process. Works within job scope to meet the requirements of the Joint Commission and other applicable federal, state and local regulatory and accrediting agencies.

Education Qualifications:

This position requires the ability to work the following schedule:

• 24 hours per week


• 8 hour overnight shifts


• Every other weekend and holiday rotation


• Straight Night Shift Differential

Hiring Incentive Eligible Position: Qualified candidates may be eligible for a hiring incentive of up to $1500.

Licensure/Certification Qualifications:

• Verifiable completion of a recognized nurse aide training program OR current registration on applicable state nursing assistant registry.


• BLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
