Essentia Health St. Mary's- Detroit Lakes is seeking a nurse aide to provide direct patient care under supervision, focusing on safety, comfort, and essential daily activities. The role supports nursing staff across the Med Surg unit in Detroit Lakes.

Your schedule includes permanent night rotation with 8-hour night shifts, every other weekend, and holiday rotation. FTE 0.6, with a competitive hourly wage and incentive eligibility.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 3 months of hire.
• Completion of a recognized nurse aide training program or current state registry registration.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and support under supervision to ensure safety and comfort.
• Assist with hygiene, nutrition, comfort, and safe patient transfers.
• Take vital signs and maintain accurate recordkeeping.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and report to the RN promptly.

Job Description:

Responsible for providing direct care to patients and serving the needs of patients in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort, under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, Assistant Head Nurse, and/or Department Director (possibly with guidance from an LPN) to contribute to meeting the mission and goals of Essentia Health. Duties will vary by patient care unit/department and include but are not limited to: Providing personal hygiene care, assisting with nutritional needs, providing comfort care and other assistance, appropriately and safely transferring patients, taking vital signs and completing recordkeeping, recognizing and promptly reporting changes in patient condition to the RN, and maintaining a safe, clean environment for patients to promote the healing process. Works within job scope to meet the requirements of the Joint Commission and other applicable federal, state and local regulatory and accrediting agencies.

Education Qualifications:

This position requires the ability to work the following schedule:

• 24 hours per week
• Perm Night Shift with additional premium $$
• Every other weekend and participation in a holiday rotation

Hiring Incentive Eligible Position: Qualified candidates may be eligible for a hiring incentive of up to $1500.

Licensure/Certification Qualifications:

• BLS certification required within 3 months of hire
• Verifiable completion of a recognized nurse aide training program OR current registration on applicable state nursing assistant registry
