Select Specialty Hospital Birmingham is seeking a Nursing Assistant to join our night shift team in Birmingham, AL. The role offers a $16.41–$20.00 hourly wage with experience-based increases and competitive night/weekend differentials.

Responsibilities include bathing, oral care, rounds, and patient transport, plus maintaining clean rooms and equipment. We provide a thorough orientation, 100% RN scholarship, tuition reimbursement, and a clinical ladder for career growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or relevant work experience (3+ years).
• BLS required within 90 days of hire.
• Hospitals experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)

• BLS is required within 90 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
