Job summary

Select Medical's Select Specialty Hospital - North Knoxville (Powell) is seeking a Nursing Assistant for full-time night shifts (7pm–7am). You will assist with basic patient care, rounds, and transport while upholding safety and comfort. The role emphasizes growth through orientation, education, and a clinical ladder.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience (3+ years).
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Preferred: hospital experience as a nursing assistant or CNA certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with bathing, oral hygiene, and feeding.
• Conduct hourly rounds and check on patients.
• Transport patients and assist in moving them to treatment areas.
• Maintain cleanliness of rooms and equipment.
• Support unit stock and assist with duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)

• BLS is required within 90 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
