Job summary

Essentia Health in Fargo, ND seeks an Emergency Services Tech to assist in the Emergency Department. The role includes Nursing Assistant duties and Unit Secretary tasks, with about 24 hours per week and an every-other-weekend/holiday rotation.

Shifts rotate day/evening/night, and a flexible schedule is available. The position requires direct patient care experience and a current BLS certification within 3 months.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
• CNA through the North Dakota Department of Health preferred.
• If not certified, must be registered as a Nurse Assistant within 3 months from start date.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and comfort under RN supervision.
• Assist with personal hygiene and nutritional needs.
• Transfer patients safely and record vital signs.
• Report changes in patient condition to the RN promptly.
• Support unit secretary duties: phones, desk work, log records, and computer entry.

Position will have Nursing Assistant and Unit Secretary Duties. This position is 24 hours per week with an every other weekend and holiday rotation. Must be available to work rotating shifts.Education Qualifications:Responsible for providing direct care to patients and serving the needs of patients in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort, under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, Assistant Head Nurse, and/or Department Director (possibly with guidance from an LPN) to contribute to meeting the mission and goals of Essentia Health. Duties will vary by patient care unit/department and include but are not limited to: Providing personal hygiene care, assisting with nutritional needs, providing comfort care and other assistance, appropriately and safely transferring patients, taking vital signs and completing recordkeeping, recognizing and promptly reporting changes in patient condition to the RN, and maintaining a safe, clean environment for patients to promote the healing process.
