Essentia Health is seeking Nursing Assistants for the Emergency Department. The role includes Nursing Assistant duties and Unit Secretary responsibilities with 12-hour day/evening shifts and an every-other-weekend/holiday rotation.

Responsibilities include direct patient care under RN supervision, vital signs, hygiene, nutrition support, and unit secretarial tasks such as phones, clerical work, and data entry. BLS within 3 months; ND DOH CNA preferred or registration within 3 months.

Position will have Nursing Assistant and Unit Secretary Duties. Schedule: 12 hour shifts rotating Days (7am-7:30pm) and Nights (7pm-7:30am) with an every other weekend and holiday rotation.Education Qualifications:Responsible for providing direct care to patients and serving the needs of patients in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort, under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, Assistant Head Nurse, and/or Department Director (possibly with guidance from an LPN) to contribute to meeting the mission and goals of Essentia Health. Duties will vary by patient care unit/department and include but are not limited to: Providing personal hygiene care, assisting with nutritional needs, providing comfort care and other assistance, appropriately and safely transferring patients, taking vital signs and completing recordkeeping, recognizing and promptly reporting changes in patient condition to the RN, and maintaining a safe, clean environment for patients to promote the healing process.
