Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital - Canton is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA) to provide compassionate care in a critical illness recovery setting. This full-time day shift (7 a.m.

– 7 p.m.) offers a competitive hourly wage of $17.50 to $21.76 and a $2,000 sign-on bonus. Responsibilities include assisting with bathing, oral care, transfers, and rounds; maintaining room and equipment cleanliness; stocking supplies; and supporting the care team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or 3+ years relevant work experience.
• BLS required within 90 days of hire.
• Preferred: hospital experience as a nursing assistant or NA certification, or related field experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with bathing using basin-less techniques and provide basic care.
• Participate in hourly rounds to monitor patient needs.
• Transport patients to treatment centers and assist with movement in/out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Maintain cleanliness of bedpans, urinals, wheelchairs, and related equipment.
• Keep patient rooms clean and orderly, and restock supplies as directed.
• Support the care team with daily tasks and duties as assigned.

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
