Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support physicians and deliver compassionate patient care in a busy acute care setting. Part-time, day shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. are available.

You will collect and relay patient information, assist with activities of daily living, transport patients, and help maintain a safe, clean environment under Trinity Health guidelines.

Certification in BLS is required, and prior CNA experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; CT-approved Nurse Aide training preferred or in process.
• Transcript proof required or significant nurse assistant/healthcare experience.
• BLS certification required.
• Previous Nursing Assistant experience in acute care preferred.
• Able to pass drug screening and background check.

Employment Type: Part time Shift: 12 Hour Day Shift

Description: At Saint Francis Hospital the Nursing Assistant is responsible for assisting physicians while providing exceptional treatment to patients with a variety of medical conditions.

What you will do

• Collect and report patient information and data
• Help patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, diet, fluid intake, skin care, bathing and dressing, positioning, transfers, mobility and ambulation
• Patient Transport
• Collection of specimens
• Distribution of linens and supplies to patient rooms
• Deliver ice and beverages to patients
• As assigned, stays with at-risk patients to monitor patient safety

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of a Connecticut approved Nurse Aide Training Program preferred or in process of earning a BA in Nursing OR Health Sciences with at least one clinical completed OR significant previous healthcare related experience
• Proof with college transcript required OR have significant nurse assistant/healthcare related experience is required
• Certification: BLS certification required
• Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant in an acute care setting preferred
• Ability to pass drug screening and background check
