Job summary

Essentia Health in Brainerd/Baxter, MN seeks a Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care under RN supervision. Responsibilities include personal hygiene support, comfort care, vital signs, and diligent documentation.

Must be able to work rotating 8-hour shifts including days and overnights, with every-other-weekend duties. Candidates should meet one of several nursing assistant qualification paths, maintain patient-safety standards, and participate in ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Must meet ONE of the following requirements: 6 months of patient care experience.
• Completion of one semester of clinical rotations within an accredited nursing program.
• Successful completion of an EH provided Nursing Assistant training within one month of hire.
• Verifiable completion of a recognized nurse aide training program.
• Current registration on applicable state nursing assistant registry.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene care and assist with nutritional needs.
• Offer comfort care and other assistance to patients.
• Transfer patients safely and appropriately.
• Take vital signs and complete recordkeeping.
• Recognize and report changes in patient condition to the RN.
