Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support patient care on the night shift in a high-quality clinical environment. Under RN supervision, you will help with vital signs, daily living activities, nutrition support, and basic clinical procedures, contributing to patient safety and comfort across the unit.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, BLS certification within 30 days, and solid reading, writing, math and interpersonal abilities.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and perform basic four-function math.
• Ability to obtain knowledge of medical terminology and basic computer skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Basic literacy and numeracy required for patient care tasks.

Responsibilities

• Take and record vital signs (height, weight, oxygen saturation) and report any unusual observations.
• Collect specimens for analysis and monitor intake and output.
• Assist with activities of daily living and personal care for assigned patients.
• Perform basic clinical procedures under supervision and independently when appropriate.
• Support patient nutrition needs including room service setup and feeding as required.
• Uphold safety practices and infection control policies at all times.
• Provide sitter duties as trained and assist with patient safety.
• Assist with orientation of new Nursing Assistant staff and participate in unit activities.
