Job summary

UNC Health Nash is hiring a Nursing Assistant II for a per diem role in Nash Hospitals. The position supports professional caregivers, handles patient care tasks, and assists with unit clerical duties, patient transport, and supplies.

Required: High School diploma or GED, NC Nursing Assistant II licensure, and BLS/CPR certifications. Prior clerical experience and patient-care exposure are preferred. Onsite work with flexible schedules in a progressive care unit.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Nursing Assistant II certification with NC Board of Nursing.
• BLS and CPR certifications required.
• Clerical/customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with examinations and procedures.
• Review patient care documentation and report changes to nurses/physicians.
• Handle clerical tasks, organize workloads, greet visitors, and manage phone calls.
• Provide PI audits and data entry support.
• Assist with clinical support activities and equipment handling.
• Deliver direct patient care per plan of care activities including basic nursing tasks.
• Reinforce patient education and distribute materials.
