Baptist Health Brookwood Hospital in Birmingham, AL is seeking an Nursing Assistant II for the Mother Baby unit. You will perform patient care under the supervision of an RN or LPN, helping with hygiene, mobility, and daily needs while ensuring safety.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• One year of nursing assistant experience in the past five years may substitute for some trainings.
• Nursing Assistant Program or equivalent certifications listed.
• Alabama CNA certification or LPN licensure is preferred.
• Graduate of an approved school of nursing; or EMS credential.
• Licensure/certification from outside the United States accepted per policy.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with hygiene, mobility, hydration, elimination, and nutritional needs.
• Provides routine treatments and maintains a safe, clean, neat, and organized patient environment.
• Maintains safety and security of patients, families, self, and other healthcare team members.
• Ensures patient privacy, rights, and confidentiality.
• Follows standard precautions and hand hygiene between patients.
• Assists with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
• Takes and records vitals and documents pertinent information per policy.
• Communicates concerns about patient condition to the RN or other team members.
• Participates in handoff reports and hourly rounding.
• Delivers exceptional service and care to patients, families, and coworkers.
• Maintains a clean, safe nursing unit and adheres to unit competencies.

Nursing Assistant Program

Alabama CNA certification

Alabama LPN licensure

Graduate of approved nursing program

Medical Corpsman / EMT / Paramedic

Licensure outside the United States
