Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Nursing Assistant Program or equivalent training required.
• State of Florida CNA certification or LPN license required.
• Graduate of nursing school or medical corpsman/EMT/paramedic accepted.
• One year of healthcare experience preferred; not required for graduates of approved nursing programs.
• CPR/BLS certification required or as specified by unit policy.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with hygiene, mobility, hydration, elimination and nutrition.
• Provide routine treatments and maintain a clean, safe patient environment.
• Maintain patient safety, privacy and confidentiality.
• Follow standard precautions and hand hygiene.
• Assist with admission, transfer and discharge of patients.
• Take and record vital signs and document patient information.
• Communicate patient status to the RN and healthcare team.
• Participate in handoff reports and hourly rounding.
• Transport and deliver items and medications within the facility.
• Attend hospital/unit meetings and mandatory trainings.

Florida CNA certification

Florida Licensed Practical Nurse
