Job summary

UNC Health in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Nursing Assistant I to join Rex 3 West. This full-time, night-shift role provides routine direct and indirect patient care under supervision, with a 36-hour work week and a pay range of $18.00 to $24.66 per hour.

The position requires NC Nursing Assistant I licensure and BLS, with typical duties including vital signs, daily living activities, and support for patients and families through admission, orientation, and discharge.

Qualifications

• Nursing Assistant I certification in North Carolina.
• BLS certification.
• Six months nursing assistant experience preferred.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English and use basic computer tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and health care providers with routine examinations and procedures; procure equipment during emergencies.
• Observe, collect, and document patient information; report changes to nurse or physician.
• Assist patients and families during admission, orientation, and discharge.
• Provide personal care for activities of daily living.
• Support vital signs measurement, specimen collection, wound care and related tasks.
• Assist in the psychiatric setting with de‑escalation and patient support activities.
