Job summary

UNC Health is seeking Nursing Assistants to join the Float/Flex Pool. The role involves flexible assignment across UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill, Hillsborough Hospital, and Youth Behavioral Hospital in Butner, NC, with 36 hours per week on 12-hour shifts.

The team is comprised of about 300 RNs and NAs/CSTs, providing direct and indirect patient care under RN or physician supervision, including critical care and all ages. Orientation and PTO benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Flexible to work across multiple units and patient ages from infant to geriatric.
• Ability to perform routine direct and indirect patient care under RN/physician supervision.
• Strong teamwork and communication with health care staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and health care providers with routine examinations and procedures.
• Aid in the physical management of patients and in behavioral support in psychiatric settings.
• Observe, document, and report significant changes in patient condition to RN/physician.
• Assist patients and families during admission, orientation, and discharge processes.
• Provide care including vital signs, wound care, catheter care, glucose checks, and activities of daily living.
