Job summary

Nash UNC Health Care is seeking a part-time Nursing Assistant I to provide routine direct and indirect patient care in hospital or clinic settings. All work is under supervision of a registered nurse or physician, with responsibilities including assisting with examinations, patient support, and basic care tasks.

Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma or GED, NC Nursing Assistant I certification, and BLS. The role is onsite with 24 hours per week and a variable schedule.

Qualifications

• Fluent English in speaking and writing.
• Basic computer skills for charting and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures.
• Support in psychiatric settings with patient orientation, behavior modification, de-escalation, and safety.
• Observe and document patient information and report changes to nurse/physician.
• Assist patients and families during admission, orientation, and discharge.
• Perform routine care tasks: vital signs, measurements, specimen collection, wound care, ROM exercises, and activities of daily living.
