Job summary

UCI Health in Orange County is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support professional and technical staff in patient care. You will take vital signs, assist with hygiene and elimination, and help maintain a clean, safe unit environment.

Responsibilities include stocking supplies, operating hospital equipment as directed, performing clerical tasks, and floating between Orange and Irvine campuses as needed. Strong communication and English proficiency are essential; BLS is required at hire.

Qualifications

• Understanding of basic medical terminology.
• CNA/LVN or nursing program enrollment with 1 clinical semester required.
• Able to work variable shifts including nights, weekends, holidays.
• Able to read, write and speak effectively in English.
• Communicate therapeutically with patients.
• Patient care experience preferred in acute care.
• Current BLS certification upon hire (AHA).
• Ability to float between Orange and Irvine campuses.

Responsibilities

• Take and record vital signs as part of patient care.
• Assist patients with hygiene and elimination.
• Maintain a clean and safe unit environment.
• Stock unit supplies and operate hospital equipment as directed.
• Perform routine clerical tasks and assist with other duties as assigned.
