Qualifications

• Six months of general experience or one year of related education meeting the NA criteria.
• Two years of education above high school with nursing-related courses may qualify.
• Four-year degree with health care coursework meets the higher-grade requirements.
• Grandfathering provision may apply for current VHA employees in this occupation.

Responsabilités

• Provide a full range of nursing care under supervision of RNs or LPNs.
• Observe patients and refer deviations to supervisors promptly.
• Use equipment and supplies for basic and intermediate care tasks.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and health professionals.
• Serve as a preceptor to new NAs and assist with orientation.
