The Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas is recruiting for full-time and part-time Nursing Assistants in our Patient Support (Float Pool) department.

The Nursing Assistant will work in a variety of health care settings and provide care for patients/residents with acute to chronic conditions, including glucose monitoring and daily living activities. Responsibilities include observing and reporting patient conditions, maintaining privacy and dignity, assisting with hygiene,

Qualifications

• Education or degrees recognized by the U.S. Department of Education to qualify for Federal employment.
• If using foreign education, you must submit a Certificate of Foreign Equivalency with the transcript to receive credit.

Responsabilités

• Utilize glucose monitoring machines to collect and document readings.
• Maintain positive therapeutic relationships with patients, families, and significant others.
• Observe, report, and record patient/resident observations for clinical care.
• Provide nursing care including hygiene, nutrition, elimination, activity, and exercise.
• Engage patients in group activities and therapeutic programs.
• Report patient observations to the RN or treatment team and protect patient privacy.
• Organize supplies and equipment; monitor and follow policies and procedures.
