Valley Baptist - Harlingen is seeking a patient care assistant to support nursing staff in providing compassionate care. You will help with personal hygiene, monitor vital signs, and ensure patient comfort throughout shifts.

The role includes assisting with meals, transporting supplies, and maintaining clean and organized patient areas. A sign-on bonus may be offered; eligibility varies by location and status.

Qualifications

• Education: high school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience: 6 months hospital experience preferred.
• Certifications: AHA BLS certification is required.

Job Summary

This position may qualify for a sign on bonus

Assists nursing service personnel with a variety of patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients. Assists with personal hygiene, takes vital signs, and changes bed linens. May serve and collect food trays, provide for between-meal nourishment, and clean, sterilize, store, and prepare other supplies. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

Responsibilities

Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Typically reports to a registered nurse or supervisor.

Qualifications

Education:

Required: High school diploma or GED.

Experience:

Preferred: 6 months of hospital experience

Certifications:

Required: AHA BLS.
