Job summary

Kyeatright is seeking an Endoscopy Nursing Assistant in Lexington, KY to support the Endoscopy Unit under RN supervision. You will assist with pre/post care, transport patients, help with hygiene, mobility, and meals, and ensure accurate charting every two hours.

Part-time shifts include Mon, Thu, Fri 0830-1700 with on-call requirements. Qualified candidates hold a KY Nurse Aide Certification or are in early nursing program through clinical rotation and have BLS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• KY Nurse Aide Certification or enrollment in first year of Nursing program with clinical rotation.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtained within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient needs in Pre/Post area under RN supervision.
• Transport outpatients in wheelchair and inpatients by wheelchair/patient bed.
• Assist with personal hygiene, including bathing and oral care.
• Assist with bowel and bladder functions while preserving dignity.
• Help with dressing, undressing, and privacy.
• Aid in mobility, transfers, and positioning; use mechanical lift as directed.
• Assist with meals, nutrition, and supplemental feeding as needed.
• Document input on the chart at least every two hours.
• Turn patients every two hours or as directed by RN.
• Escort patients during admission, transfer, and discharge; assist with ambulation.

**Summary****Job Description:****Endoscopy-Nursing Assistant**Full time I Part ShiftSurgical Services I Lexington, KYThe Endoscopy Unit is a specialized department within the hospital that focuses on performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using advanced endoscopic technology. This unit provides minimally invasive methods to examine and treat conditions affecting the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, respiratory system, and other internal structures. Its goal is to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a safe and efficient environment.**Description:*** Part time, 3 8-hour shifts weekly 0830-1700 Monday, Thursday and Friday.* This position works under the direction of the RN to assist with patient needs in the Pre/Post area of the department.* Transporting outpatients out of the facility in a wheelchair, and transporting inpatients independently in wheelchair, stretcher or hospital bed.* Assists patients in personal hygiene such as bathing, dental and oral care, hair and nail care.* Assist patients with bowel and bladder functions while maintaining dignity and recording I & O.* Does not leave patient unattended when out of bed for bathroom assistance.* Assists patients in dressing and undressing while providing dignity and privacy.* Assist patients by lifting them manually or by mechanical lifts as needed as directed by the nurse.* Assist patients with eating and drinking and nutritional needs.* Assist in transferring and discharging patients as required.* Assist patients in positioning for meals including cleaning hands of patient.* Assists with serving meals and feeding patients as necessary.* Offers supplemental feeding/snacks.* Provides patients with fresh ice and drinking water per policy.* Documents input on chart at least every two hours.* Turn patients every two hours and/or as indicated as directed by the Nurse.* Maintains proper body alignment while performing patient transfer and activities.* Escorts patients during admission, transfer, and discharge as requested.* Assists with ambulation, up in chair, or other activities.* Verifies patient’s limitations, restrictions, and plan for mobility with Nurse prior to initiation of patient care.* On Call required-weeknights, weekends, and holidays picked by rotation.**Requirements:*** High School Diploma and/or Equivalent.* Current KY Nurse Aide Certification, or successful completions of first year of Nursing program with validation of clinical rotation.* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
