Job summary

Veterans Health Administration, Department of Veterans Affairs seeks Nursing Assistants for the Short Stay Rehabilitation Neighborhood 1P in the GEC Department. This role supports direct patient care and collaborates with RNs and the health care team to ensure quality outcomes.

Responsibilities include basic nursing care, patient comfort, safety, and EMR documentation. All shifts are available, including holidays and weekends, with VA policy training required.

Qualifications

• Six months of general experience or equivalent education/training.
• English proficiency in speaking and writing.
• Ability to assist in full range of nursing care.
• Ability to communicate with patients/families and team.
• Precepting orientation and overseeing practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient/resident care in activities of daily living and supportive care.
• Maintains patient/resident safety and privacy.
• Documents care in the electronic medical record and communicates with the multidisciplinary team.
• Maintains certification and BLS; adheres to Infection Control standards.
• Collaborates with Registered Nurse and other staff to ensure quality care.
