Job summary

LeadingAge Virginia is seeking Nursing Assistants for full-time positions in the Short Stay Rehabilitation Neighborhood 1P unit within the GEC Department. Resumes will be reviewed after the vacancy closes on October 29.

You’ll work on-site with a multidisciplinary team to provide direct patient care and support daily living activities. Applicants must meet basic VA standards, have relevant education/experience or a nursing training program, pass English proficiency requirements, and maintain

Qualifications

• Six months of general experience
• Education above high school with NA-related health care courses
• Intensive, occupation-related NA training course
• Bachelor’s degree with 24 health care hours (Transcript may be required)
• English proficiency in speaking and writing per VA standards
• Grandfathering provisions may apply for VA employees
• Must meet VA Qualification Standards
• Physical requirements include lifting, standing, bending, and walking

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient/resident care for daily living activities
• Maintain patient/resident safety and comfort
• Document care in the electronic medical record system
• Support and coordinate with the multidisciplinary health care team
• Assist with infection control and safety procedures
• Attend meetings and contribute to patient care planning
• Maintain certifications and BLS certification
• Adapt to high-paced environment with multiple priorities
