Job summary

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration in Hampton, VA, seeks Nursing Assistants to provide care to patients/residents in the SCI and Rehab Department. The role supports the nurse care plan, observes patient status, and communicates with the care team. It also involves precepting new NAs and maintaining a safe, clean environment.

Qualifications

• Provide a range of patient/resident care and contribute to the nurse care plan.
• Observe patients/residents' status and refer deviations to supervisor promptly.
• Assist with basic life support and emergency response when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients/residents in hospital, long-term care, or outpatient settings under RN/LVN/LPN supervision.
• Enter residents' condition information into the chart and maintain accurate documentation.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and support treatment teams with equipment and supplies.
