Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital in Connecticut is seeking a Nursing Assistant for a full-time day shift (12 Hour Day Shift). You will support physicians and provide compassionate care to patients with diverse medical conditions.

Responsibilities include patient data collection, assisting with ADLs, patient transport, specimen collection, and ensuring patient safety. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, BLS certification, and preferred prior acute-care nursing assistant

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification required.
• Previous nursing assistant experience in acute care preferred.
• Must pass drug screen and background check.

• Collect and report patient information and data.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living including personal hygiene, diet, fluids, skin care, bathing, dressing, positioning, transfers, mobility and ambulation.
• Transport patients as needed.
• Collect specimens.
• Distribute linens and supplies to patient rooms; deliver ice and beverages.
• Monitor patient safety with at-risk patients as assigned.

At Saint Francis Hospital the Nursing Assistant is responsible for assisting physicians while providing exceptional treatment to patients with a variety of medical conditions.

What you will do

• Collect and report patient information and data
• Help patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, diet, fluid intake, skin care, bathing and dressing, positioning, transfers, mobility and ambulation
• Patient Transport
• Collection of specimens
• Distribution of linens and supplies to patient rooms
• Deliver ice and beverages to patients
• As assigned, stays with at-risk patients to monitor patient safety

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of a Connecticut approved Nurse Aide Training Program preferred or in process of earning a BA in Nursing OR Health Sciences with at least one clinical completed OR significant previous healthcare related experience
• Proof with college transcript required OR have significant nurse assistant/healthcare related experience is required
• Certification: BLS certification required
• Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant in an acute care setting preferred
• Ability to pass drug screening and background check
