Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital in Connecticut seeks an Orthopedic Tech Nursing Assistant for a full-time, 12-hour night shift. You will support physicians, assist with activities of daily living, and transport patients while maintaining safety and comfort across diverse medical cases.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, BLS certification, and a Connecticut-approved Nurse Aide Training background. Prior ortho experience in an acute setting is a plus, with benefits beginning on day one.

Qualifications

• Experience as Nursing Assistant with ortho exposure in acute care preferred.

Description

At Saint Francis Hospital the Orthopedic Tech Nursing Assistant is responsible for assisting physicians while providing exceptional treatment to patients with a variety of medical conditions.

What You Will Do

• Collect and report patient information and data
• Help patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, diet, fluid intake, skin care, bathing and dressing, positioning, transfers, mobility and ambulation
• Patient Transport
• Collection of specimens
• Distribution of linens and supplies to patient rooms
• Deliver ice and beverages to patients
• As assigned, stays with at-risk patients to monitor patient safety
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of a Connecticut approved Nurse Aide Training Program preferred or in process of earning a BA in Nursing OR Health Sciences with at least one clinical completed OR significant previous healthcare related experience
• Proof with college transcript required OR have significant nurse assistant/healthcare related experience is required
• Certification: BLS certification required
• Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant with ortho experience in an acute care setting preferred
• Ability to pass drug screening and background check
