Job summary

The Cincinnati VA Medical Center is seeking a Nursing Assistant to join the nursing team, providing direct patient care in outpatient, inpatient, home, and community settings. Rotating weekends and holidays, you will work under indirect supervision of the registered nurse and support the care plan for veterans with medical and psychiatric needs.

Qualifications

• US citizenship required or as per VA policy
• English language proficiency required per VA requirements
• Minimum experience or education as NA per GS-3/GS-4/GS-5 criteria

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care under supervision of RN
• Maintains safety and infection control practices
• Documents care given and patient responses
• Assists in range of nursing care including hygiene, nutrition, mobility
• Communicates with patients, families and health team
• Precepts new NAs and supports orientation
