Job summary

Essentia Health Virginia Hospital is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the Float Pool - Med Surg. You will provide direct patient care under supervision, assist with daily living activities, take vitals, and help ensure patient comfort in a safe setting.

The role requires night shifts (10:00 PM–6:30 AM), 24 hours every two weeks, and the ability to work weekends on an alternating basis. 0.3 FTE with onsite duties at the Virginia Hospital campus.

Qualifications

• BLS certification preferred or ability to obtain within 1 month of hire.
• Minimum 6 months of patient care experience or completion of nursing program clinical rotations.
• Verifiable completion of a recognized nurse aide training program or current registration on state nursing assistant registry.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and assist with personal hygiene and nutrition.
• Take vital signs and document clinical observations; report changes to RN.
• Maintain safe, clean environment and support clinical care per Joint Commission standards.

Building Location:Essentia Virginia HospitalDepartment:2084130 FLOAT POOL - MED SURG - VIR HOSPJob Description:Responsible for providing direct care to patients and serving the needs of patients in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort, under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, Assistant Head Nurse, and/or Department Director to contribute to meeting the mission and goals of Essentia Health. Duties will vary by patient care unit/department and include but are not limited to: Providing personal hygiene care, assisting with nutritional needs, providing comfort care and other assistance, appropriately and safely transferring patients, taking vital signs and completing recordkeeping, recognizing and promptly reporting changes in patient condition to the RN, and maintaining a safe, clean environment for patients to promote the healing process.
