Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Preferred: 1–2 years healthcare experience.
  • Pediatric or school-based healthcare experience is a plus.
  • Internship, clinical, work-study or volunteer experience may be considered.
  • Portuguese, Arabic or Spanish language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the program nurse with measuring and recording children's vital signs.
  • Report health information and concerns promptly to the program nurse.
  • Conduct daily health checks and follow up on medical issues.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date student health records.
  • Enter child health documentation into electronic software systems.
  • Perform basic first aid and clinical skills under supervision.
  • Provide adjunct care and refer care to the school nurse or director when outside the CNA scope of practice.
  • Participate in required Head Start health screenings, including hearing, vision, and nutrition screenings.
  • Help maintain current physical and dental examination records for each child.
  • Collaborate with program nurses and other team members to provide high-quality health, oral health, mental health, and nutritional services.
  • Help ensure services are developmentally, culturally, and linguistically appropriate and support each child's growth and school readiness.
  • Every day, you'll play an important role in helping children feel healthy, safe, supported, and ready to learn.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
