Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health in Minnesota seeks candidates for the Nursing Assistant Registered Apprenticeship Program, rotating shifts 7p-7:30a. Responsibilities include admission/transfer/discharge support, basic nursing care, meal assistance, and safety observation.

The program combines classroom learning with on-the-job training and must be completed within 6 months of hire into the CNA, Grade 8 position. BLS certification required within 2 weeks of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and ability to read/write English.
• BLS certification within 2 weeks of hire.
• Able to read, write, and follow written and oral directions in English at 12th grade level.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to work in a busy acute care unit.
• Must be 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients' rooms and escort to rooms, assist with belongings.
• Assist with meals, record intake, and help with feeding as needed.
• Provide personal nursing care and assist with activities of daily living.
• Document care activities in the Electronic Medical Record.
• Respond to call bells and notify nursing staff of abnormal findings.

Education

High School graduate or equivalency

American Heart Association BLS certification

Able to read/write English at 12th grade level

Must be 18 years old
