Corewell Health is seeking a Full-time on-site nursing support on the 5 North East unit in Royal Oak. The role provides patient care under a Registered Nurse, with duties including patient transport, observer services, and clerical tasks to keep the unit running smoothly.

Required high school diploma or equivalent and BLS certification. Hospital or nursing home experience is preferred. Benefits and a sign-on bonus are available to eligible applicants.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provides care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services and appropriate documentation of services.
• Provides the services of an Observer for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observation, either in person or via remote video monitoring, to maximize his/her safety.
• Performs general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit.
• Documentation of care provided in the electronic medical record.

About the Unit

5 North East is a 35-bed medical-surgical care unit with 6 progressive beds. We provide compassionate and high-quality patient and family-centered care for a wide variety of surgical and medical patients. 5NE regularly cares for patients undergoing cardiac surgery, thoracic surgery, peripheral vascular surgery, general surgery, and trauma work as well as patients with Congestive Heart Failure. Our mission is to always provide our patients and their families with an exceptional experience during their stay with us on the unit. Our 5 Northeast team is committed to ensuring a safe and holistic environment with excellence in both care and service to all our patients and their families.
