Corewell Health is hiring for the 9 North Medical unit at Royal Oak Hospital in Royal Oak, MI. This full-time night-shift role provides care under the direction of a Registered Nurse, including patient observation and documentation in the EMR.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, BLS certification, and preferred CNA certification with prior hospital experience. Benefits are provided and a sign-on bonus of up to $1500 is available.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support required.
• Current CNA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services and appropriate documentation of services.
• Provides the services of an Observer for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observation, either in person or via remote video monitoring, to maximize his/her safety.
• Performs general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit.
• Documentation of care provided in the electronic medical record.

9 North Medical is a 35 bed, Medical/Surgical unit. With a diverse patient population, a variety of ailments are seen amongst our patients creating plenty of learning opportunities. With an emphasis on putting patient needs first and strong teamwork, we strive to provide the highest level of care for all our patients, while creating a positive culture for staff to grow and work efficiently within a multidisciplinary care team. Staff are encouraged to be active participants in our Professional Nurse Council to spur positive changes and be involved in unit decisions through a Shared Governance Model.
