Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking an RN for the Royal Oak Hospital Operating Room North Tower. This Level I trauma center handles inpatient and outpatient cases with specialties including Urology, Gynecology, ENT, and OMFS, and features a Robotic program with multiple DaVinci Xi robots.

The RN delivers nursing care with the nursing process in a fast-paced environment. The role collaborates with the Nurse Leader, plans with patient-family input, and documents education in the health record.

Qualifications

• Associates in Nursing required.
• Bachelor's in Nursing required within 5 years.
• Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years in a licensed health care role and must have passed the NCLEX.
• MI Registered Nurse (RN) required.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• 1+ year of acute care RN experience preferred.
• Surgical Technologist experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care using the nursing process and patient-family centered care.
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge; document education in health records.
• Partner with Nurse Leader and involve patient/family goals in planning the plan of care.

About The Unit

This is a Level 1 trauma center with a fast-paced operating room with both inpatient and outpatient cases. Specialties include Urology, Gynecology, ENT, and OMFS. In addition, we have a robust robotic program consisting of 8 DaVinci Xi robots and an SP robot. Our robotic program expands to several service lines including General, Urology, Gynecology, Colorectal, Bariatric, Hepatobiliary, Thoracic and ENT. It was the first robotic program in Michigan to hit 20,000 robotic surgeries. Our Urology, Gynecology, and ENT programs consistently receive national recognition by the U.S. News & World Reports. We pride ourselves on working together as a team to provide high quality, safe and compassionate care for our patients. On call and weekend requirements are shared amongst the team.

Scope of work

The RN, under the ANA scope of practice utilizes the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge. The RN provides quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to Corewell Health policies and procedures and recognizes the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes. The RN partners with and utilizes patient/family input and goals in planning plan of care and develops teaching strategies for patient/family; documents education and learning appropriately in health record.
