Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Westchester Hospital in Bronxville, NY is seeking a part-time Nursing Assistant for the 5 North Med/Surg unit. The role supports registered nurses by taking vital signs, transporting patients, and providing meals with compassionate care.

The ideal candidate has CNA certification or formal nurse aide training, CPR-BLS, and experience in acute care or a certified program. Evening/night shifts cover 11:00pm–7:15am with weekend/holiday rotation, on-site at NYP Westchester.

Qualifications

• One year in acute care setting preferred or certified long term care Nursing Assistant.
• Current CPR Training from the American Heart Association (BLS).
• Previous Nurse’s aide experience in a hospital setting or certification from an approved Nurse Aide training program or currently enrolled in a BSN program (junior year or completed practicum).

Responsibilities

• Monitor and record temperatures, pulses, respiration and blood pressure.
• Assist with meals delivery and safe patient transport.
• Provide compassionate patient-focused care under RN supervision.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment and support the nursing team at 5 North, Med/Surg.
• On-site, part-time night shift hours 11:00pm–7:15am with rotating weekends/holidays.

Nursing Assistant – 5 North - Med/Surg - PT - Nights

Provide compassionate patient focus and perform select care duties under the supervision of a registered nurse. Improve the patient experience and maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment. Measure and record temperatures, pulses, respiration and blood pressure. Demonstrate what it means to be part of a team and raise the bar for patient care.

This is a part time night shift position covering the hours of 11:00pm – 7:15am with rotating weekends and holidays at NewYork-Presbyterian Westchester Hospital in Bronxville; right across from the Metro North Station.

Preferred Criteria

• High School Diploma or GED

Required Criteria

• Previous Nurse’s aide experience in a hospital setting or certification from an approved accredited Nurse Aid training program or currently enrolled in a BSN program for nursing, at the junior year level or had completed at least one clinical practicum
