Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, IN is seeking a Nursing Assistant to join the 2F Step-Down ICU team. This full-time position (36 hours weekly) covers day shifts (7am–7pm) and is benefit-eligible.

Under general supervision, you will assist with delegated patient care and routine unit tasks, working closely with registered nurses to support high-acuity patients, particularly septic and respiratory cases. A path to excellence culture is emphasized.

Qualifications

• BLS for Healthcare Provider required.
• Previous Nursing Assistant experience required.
• HS diploma/equivalent or CNA preferred, not required.

Job Duties:

We are seeking a Nursing Assistant who under general supervision and according to established procedures functions as an on-shift team member under the direction of the nurse by providing delegated aspects of patient care and routine non-patient care unit maintenance tasks.

About the Unit:

The Step-Down ICU, also known as 2F, is a 16-bed intermediate level of care unit between the Inpatient Units and the Critical Care units. While the unit specializes in septic and respiratory compromised (COPD, PNA, Respiratory Failure) patients, there are also a variety of diagnoses, such as CHF, dysrhythmias, DKA, Hemodialysis and Peritoneal dialysis, AMS, etc. Nursing Assistants will provide excellent care for a high acuity-based population. 2F is a great place for Nursing Assistants to cultivate and expand their skills. Due to the proximity and collaboration with the ICU, 2F is commonly utilized as a progressive steppingstone for Nursing Assistants to build a foundation of skills needed to be successful in the ICU.
