Job summary

Baptist Health Floyd is seeking a Nursing Assistant to join the 2F Step-Down ICU on a part-time basis, 24 hours per week, night shifts from 7pm to 7am. The role works under the supervision of registered nurses and participating in delegated patient care activities in a high-acuity unit.

Ideal candidates have prior Nursing Assistant experience and a current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification. High school diploma or CNA may be preferred but is not required.

Job Duties

We are seeking a Nursing Assistant who under general supervision and according to established procedures functions as an on-shift team member under the direction of the nurse by providing delegated aspects of patient care and routine non-patient care unit maintenance tasks.

About the Unit

The Step-Down ICU, also known as 2F, is a 16-bed intermediate level of care unit between the Inpatient Units and the Critical Care units. While the unit specializes in septic and respiratory compromised (COPD, PNA, Respiratory Failure) patients, there are also a variety of diagnoses, such as CHF, dysrhythmias, DKA, Hemodialysis and Peritoneal dialysis, AMS, etc. Nursing Assistants will provide excellent care for a high acuity-based population. 2F is a great place for Nursing Assistants to cultivate and expand their skills. Due to the proximity and collaboration with the ICU, 2F is commonly utilized as a progressive stepping-stone for Nursing Assistants to build a foundation of skills needed to be successful in the ICU.
