Job summary

HealthPartners is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide quality care to patients in a 0.8 FTE role (32 hours per week) at Capitol View Transitional Care Center, located in Regions Hospital in Minnesota. The position supports routine patient care for 6–9 patients daily, with a Monday–Friday schedule and every other weekend requirement.

The role requires current Minnesota Nursing Assistant certification and completion of a Nursing Assistant Course, with orientation in Bloomington.

Qualifications

• Must be on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry with current certification.
• Completion of a Nursing Assistant Course is required.
• Must be able to attend HealthPartners Nursing Orientation in Bloomington Tue-Wed 8am-4:30pm with reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain communication with the nurse in charge regarding changes in a patient’s status.
• Provide direct services: showers/baths, nourishment, feeding, record intake/output, assist with personal care and charting.
• Answer calls promptly and stock supplies; perform other duties as assigned.

Capitol View Transitional Care Center is a state-of-the-art true transitional care unit (TCU) located in Regions Hospital (we are part of the HealthPartners organization as a separate nonprofit organization.) We provide quality care to patients from 18+ years of age who are in need of a short-term stay. Our average length of stay is 17 days. As a Nursing Assistant you will provide quality care to 6-9 patients a day. The job duties and responsibilities include:

• Maintain communication by informing the nurse in charge of significant changes in a patient’s status.
• Provide all necessary direct services to patients which include, but are not limited to giving scheduled showers/baths, water pass and nourishment, passing trays and assisting with feeding as needed, recording food and fluid intake and output, assisting with patient personal laundry, rounding on patients regularly, charting, completing room set-up for new patient admission etc.
• Answering calls lights promptly
• Stocking Supplies accordingly (gloves, blankets etc.).
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Must be on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry and must maintain current certification.
• Completion of a Nursing Assistant Course
• Must be able to attend and have reliable transportation to and from HealthPartners' Nursing Orientation in Bloomington on Tuesday and Wednesday from 8am-430pm.

Salary

Starting rate at $20.59/hour + $1.50/hour evening differential. Pay rate is based off previous nursing assistant work experience.
