Job summary

The Nursing Assistant role at Cambridge Health Alliance is based at Cambridge Hospital. This temporary position supports inpatient units with 40 hours per week across shifts (8a-4p and 3p-11p).

Under the supervision of professional nursing staff, you will provide basic patient care and help maintain unit workflow. Required qualifications include a High School Diploma, BLS, CNA training, and one year experience; current nursing program enrollment with clinical rotations is accepted.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• AHA or ARC BLS Healthcare Provider certification required.
• One year of experience as a nursing assistant preferred.
• Currently enrolled in a nursing program with two clinical rotations.
• Completion of an approved certified nursing assistant training program.

Responsibilities

• Understands and demonstrates current OSHA standards.
• Records patient care accurately on the Patient Care Flow Sheet.
• Communicates with patients, visitors, and other departments with courtesy.

Summary:

The Nursing Assistant knows and understands the philosophy, objectives, policies and procedures of Nursing Service. Under the supervision of the professional nurse, the Nursing Assistant provides basic nursing care to assigned patients.

Responsibilities:

Understands and demonstrates current OSHA standards.

Records patient care accurately on the Patient Care Flow Sheet

Practices telephone courtesy and communicates appropriate information to patients, visitors, and personnel from other departments.
