Job summary

MedVet seeks a Nursing Clinical Supervisor to lead the Veterinary Nursing team in our fast-paced emergency and specialty environment. The role focuses on supervising clinical staff, ensuring treatment plans are executed, and collaborating with multiple departments to deliver exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

• Escalates issues to Clinical Manager.
• Functions as a scheduled Clinical Services team member within department(s).
• Collaborates with other departments to meet patient and client needs.
• Prioritizes and organizes workflows for shift.
• Manages Clinical Services team during shift, including staffing and breaks.
• Assigns responsibilities per shift and addresses process issues.
• Communicates schedule changes and performance concerns to Clinical Manager.
• Acts as first-level responder to client concerns and drug escalations.
• Trains and mentors new team members.
• Provides input on team performance evaluations.
• Participates in on-call responsibilities and meetings.

We are looking for: Nursing Clinical Supervisor

Never a dull moment in the Nursing department! Our patients need constant supervision to ensure treatment plans are being executed. This department is perfect for someone who can identify patient distress and react accordingly, enjoys phlebotomy, placing IV catheters, assisting with recovery and client follow up and education.

What you’ll do:

• Escalates issues to Clinical Manager


• Functions as a scheduled Clinical Services team member within department(s)


• Collaborates with other departments regarding patient and client needs


• Prioritizes and organizes workflows for shift


• Directly manages Clinical Services team members while on shift which includes but is not limited to:


• Manages early call-ins, early departures, call-offs, sharing of resources, breaks and lunches for team members


• Assigns team member responsibilities per shift


• Addresses process or employee issues during their shift


• Communicates schedule changes, performance concerns and shift issues to the Clinical Manager routinely


• Serves as first level responder to client concerns and drug escalations


• Trains and mentors new team members


• Provides input to Clinical Manager on team member performance evaluations


• Participates in on-call responsibilities


• Participates in management or administrative meeting(s) routinely

Who you are:

• Prior veterinary experience required, previous emergency experience desired


• Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)


• Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary


• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
