Responsibilities

• Assess staffing needs on the nursing units and provide appropriate staff.
• Act as a resource for clinical issues and patient-care problems.
• Maintain high visibility on units to reinforce role modeling.
• Collaborate with physicians to determine placement based on care level.
• Represent hospital administration to resolve administrative issues on evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Liaise between nursing and other departments to support patient-care activities.
• Provide feedback to directors and nurse managers on staff and patient care.
• Assist nursing staff in rendering patient care and interpreting hospital policies.
• Provide informal teaching to nursing staff.
• Participate in professional meetings and hospital committees to support advancement.
