Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited school.
• MSN with nursing management experience or clinical specialty preparation.
• Current licensure from the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.
• Three years of progressive nursing experience, preferably including supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess staffing needs on nursing units and provide the appropriate staff.
• Act as a resource person for clinical issues and patient-care problems.
• Maintain high visibility on nursing units to reinforce identity as a role model.
• Collaborate with physicians and Admitting to determine patient placement by level of care.
• Represent hospital administration to resolve hospital-wide and department-wide issues on evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Liaise between nursing and other departments to ensure smooth patient-care activities.
• Provide feedback to directors and nurse managers regarding staff and patient care matters for off-shifts and follow up as needed.
• Assist nursing staff in rendering patient care and interpreting hospital policies.
