Job summary

Piedmont Mountainside Hospital is seeking an experienced nurse leader to join our weekend night shift as on-call administrator. You will oversee nursing practice, ensure patient safety, and coordinate with admissions and bed control to maintain flow during your shift.

The ideal candidate has a nursing degree, at least 3 years of hospital nursing, and Georgia licensure. We value strong leadership, clear communication, and the ability to respond decisively in emergencies.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a nursing program is required.
• 3 years of nursing hospital experience is required.
• RN – Georgia licensure and/or multi-state licensure required.
• BCLS required; ACLS, PALS, NRP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain quality patient care on assigned shift.
• Direct and coordinate with Admissions and Bed Control to optimize flow.
• Monitor bed availability and implement surge capacity measures.
• Supervise nursing staff and coordinate staffing shift-to-shift.
• Act as on-site hospital administrator after hours.
• Respond to administrator-on-call requests and disaster plan activation.
• Maintain open communication with staff and ensure nursing practice standards.

Responsibilities

Promoting and maintaining quality patient care that promotes safety and well-being of all patients throughout the organization on assigned shift. Plans, directs, and coordinates with Admissions and Bed Control to facilitate flow, providing optimum service to all Piedmont customers. Monitoring bed availability and implementing surge capacity measures as needed. Supervision of the nursing staff and coordination of staffing on a shift-to-shift basis. Is the designated on-site hospital administrator after normal business hours. Responsible for the assessment of all requests for administrator-on-call contact during his/her shift. Responsible for all activities within the hospital in the absence of Administration and/or department directors. Works under the direction of the Administrator on-call to determine the activation of the disaster plan and coordinates related activities. Rounds and maintains open communication with all staff. This position requires a sound knowledge of nursing practice and exceptional leadership abilities.
