Job summary

Piedmont Columbus Northside is seeking an experienced nurse administrator to oversee operations on the assigned shift, ensuring safe patient care and efficient patient flow across the hospital. The role supervises nursing staff, coordinates admissions and bed control, and acts as on-site administrator after hours, including activation of the disaster plan as needed.

Required: nursing degree, Georgia RN licensure, BCLS, and at least 3 years of hospital nursing experience; ACLS/PALS/NRP are

Qualifications

• Graduate from a nursing program is required.
• 3 years of nursing experience in a hospital setting is required.
• RN Georgia licensure and BCLS required; ACLS/PALS/NRP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise nursing staff and coordinate staffing on a shift-to-shift basis.
• Act as on-site hospital administrator after hours and during administrator-on-call.
• Monitor bed availability and implement surge capacity measures as needed.

Promoting and maintaining quality patient care that promotes safety and well-being of all patients throughout the organization on assigned shift. Plans, directs, and coordinates with Admissions and Bed Control to facilitate flow, providing optimum service to all Piedmont customers. Monitoring bed availability and implementing surge capacity measures as needed. Supervision of the nursing staff and coordination of staffing on a shift-to-shift basis. Is the designated on-site hospital administrator after normal business hours. Responsible for the assessment of all requests for administrator-on-call contact during his/her shift. Responsible for all activities within the hospital in the absence of Administration and/or department directors. Works under the direction of the Administrator on-call to determine the activation of the disaster plan and coordinates related activities. Rounds and maintains open communication with all staff. This position requires a sound knowledge of nursing practice and exceptional leadership abilities.
