Job summary

Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Georgia is seeking an experienced nurse leader to oversee patient care during the 7:00pm–7:00am weekend shifts. The role focuses on safety, quality, and effective bed management across the organization.

You will supervise the nursing staff, coordinate admissions and bed control, and act as the on-site administrator after hours, ensuring disaster plans are activated when needed and communications stay open with all teams.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a nursing program (Required).
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Nursing preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience in a hospital setting (Required).
• Demonstrated clinical competency (Required).
• Current Georgia RN licensure required; BCLS—Basic Life Support required; ACLS and PALS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain quality patient care and safety on assigned shift.
• Coordinate with Admissions and Bed Control to optimize patient flow.
• Supervise nursing staff and coordinate staffing shift-to-shift.
• Serve as on-site hospital administrator after normal business hours and on-call administrator as needed.
• Respond to disaster activation and coordinate related activities.

Promoting and maintaining quality patient care that promotes safety and well-being of all patients throughout the organization on assigned shift. Plans, directs, and coordinates with Admissions and Bed Control to facilitate flow, providing optimum service to all Piedmont customers. Monitoring bed availability and implementing surge capacity measures as needed. Supervision of the nursing staff and coordination of staffing on a shift-to-shift basis. Is the designated on-site hospital administrator after normal business hours. Responsible for the assessment of all requests for administrator-on-call contact during his/her shift. Responsible for all activities within the hospital in the absence of Administration and/or department directors. Works under the direction of the Administrator on-call to determine the activation of the disaster plan and coordinates related activities. Rounds and maintains open communication with all staff. This position requires a sound knowledge of nursing practice and exceptional leadership abilities.
