Job summary

Requirements include a BSN, accredited nursing program, 2+ years hospital leadership, and Massachusetts nursing licensure. ACLS/PALS preferred; strong leadership and communication skills essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
• BSN required for all individuals hired after October 1, 2009.
• Minimum two years current hospital nursing experience with knowledge of management principles.
• Demonstrated leadership experience required.
• Current license to practice nursing in Massachusetts required.
• ACLS preferred; PALS preferred.
• Excellent problem-solving, prioritization, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Acts as a resource to the nursing staff throughout the hospital.
• Has full authority to make decisions regarding nursing practice per Massachusetts Nursing Practice Acts and hospital policies.
• Serves as the administrator in the building in the absence of other management.
• Has authority, in emergency situations, to make decisions of broader scope within the framework.
