Job summary

South College is seeking a Nursing Academic Specialist to mentor and tutor BSN, ASN, and LPN students, helping them master didactic content and develop critical thinking. The role reports to the Nursing Academic Manager and collaborates with nursing faculty to improve student success.

The position is on-site at the Orlando Campus, with occasional evening or weekend support as needed. Bachelor’s in Nursing, active RN license, and BLS are required; ATI mastery is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required.
• Unencumbered RN license required.
• BLS CPR certification required.
• Minimum 1 year experience in an academic setting preferred.
• Excellent communication skills via multiple channels.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and tutor BSN, ASN, and LPN students in didactic concepts.
• Develop and host concept-based workshops to build clinical judgment.
• Provide 1:1 student support with nursing concepts and NCLEX prep.
• Support remediation and evaluation of didactic content and NCLEX topics.
• Collaborate with nursing faculty to identify strategies for student retention.
• On-site role at South College, Orlando Campus, Monday–Friday with some after-hours support.
